Sleep Is Our Friend

So we're still struggling with sleep I've never had much of an issue traveling west, but this time I am. I think it could be more because Janaa is.  This is how she looks often.  We're normally awake by 3:00 am and lay there until 6ish.  We made it to the beach and am wishing this is were we had come last year. I think it would'be made all the difference in the world.  It is strange to look out at the ocean and wonder how huge the tsunami wave much have been. The reality is that most people even if they saw it coming could not have run fast enough to high ground.  The rebuilding has obviously gone quickly.  You would never know it was all washed away a few years ago.

Headed to Phuket

We're here and having so much fun. This will have to be short because we're leaving for Phuket.  I've had trouble with the site not saving my entries.  It has been such an incredible time already.  Janaa is an awesome travel partner.  She struggling adjusting to the time though. Pray she'll start sleeping well.  The kids were so precious at the airport.  They ran and hugged each other.  It's as if they were never apart.  I'm so thankful Chay hasn't left yet.  I think it's really good for Janaa. She loves her brother so very much.

Continue to pray for Janaa's heart on the trip.  She will be dealing with more than most of us ever had to at the age of 4.  I'll do my best to update more often.  Thank you all so much for praying for us and the heart of her birth mother.

Day 3

This is Brent again.  I've posted more on here in the last few days than I have in awhile.  The $$ thing is figured out.  Rachel finally found an ATM that she could get her card to work at, so now she has cold hard cash in hand.  She also has a working cell phone now, so I am able to get phone calls from her.  For some reason the calls are muddled sounding, and have dropped once or twice.  It's Friday night there, and tomorrow everyone is heading down to Phuket to spend a relaxing, fun week at the beach.

More Americans in Thailand

This is Brent.  Just finished talking to Rachel.  They arrived in Chiang Mai ok.  Rachel was very tired and was getting ready to go to bed.  She's having a problem with her bank cards, primarily at ATM machines.  Very strange.  I hope to find out something from the banks today.  Janaa sounded extremely happy and excited to be there.

On Their Way!

I took Rachel and J to the Raleigh airport last night and their flight left out about 7.  They got to JFK around 9:15-9:30 and ran into a little problem there.  The terminal they were in had no markings as to which terminal it was (later found out to be #8, the newest  one).  Their tickets did not have the terminal #, only a gate #.  They finally found the right gate, then had to get new boarding passes issued.  Once on the plane, they made a stop in Anchorage, Alaska.  The plane finally left out at 8:15am EST this morning.  So they're finally on their way.  Thailand...here they come!
